Summer Family Course 2025

22nd June - 14th September

Learn English, make friends and explore one of Europe’s top tourist destinations!

York is an amazing year-round city and no time is busier than the long summer holidays!  Long days, warmer evenings, summer is a great time to visit York. York is a year-round city and is at its busiest during the summer months!  Our Summer Course has welcomed generations of young students and now, some of them are sending their own children, or coming with them for a Family Course!  Whether getting a head start on the new school year or preparing for an exam, summer in York will be an unforgettable experience!

York in July is busy. English children are finishing school – so there are lots of school trips. Once the holidays have started, York, as the top English Tourist City outside of London, is buzzing with visitors from all over the world. It’s a time of year when our Family Course participants really value our large, private garden and our location in a residential part of the City.

York in August – the high point of the high season! York, as the top English Tourist City outside of London, is busy with tourists coming for our world-class attractions like the Minster and the National Railway Museum, coming for the main horse racing events in the calendar, coming for an amazing time in a visitor friendly city within easy reach of so much to see, do and explore. From our base in a peaceful residential part of the City, it’s time to join the crowds and enjoy the atmosphere.

Our programme makes the most of York during the summer and students have the chance to visit many of the key tourist attractions. Of course, because it is summer we can use our lovely, large garden to the full for barbecues and other evening events.

The Junior course is open to students from 11 to 19 and they can travel alone or with a parent. Kids aged 8-10 are welcome with a parent, providing the child has A2 level English. Parents are welcome on our Summer Gold Course and families can share rooms in Melton Guest House, situated next to the College.

Activities listed in the programme are included in the fee unless clearly marked as being optional extras.
